Honest Mobility Dealers Hit Back
A local honest, ethical and professional mobility dealer who is fed up with being tarred with the same brush as companies using questionable sales techniques has hit back and is advising anyone looking to buy a mobility product to take care. Readers may have seen a BBC ‘Rogue Traders’ programme in which a number of dubious sales practices were highlighted including calling customers about a ‘health questionnaire’ when really selling a product was the aim all along, high pressure selling by salespeople who just wouldn't take no for an answer and a salesperson admitting that some of the user stories he told a prospective customer were in fact, totally untrue.
In the programme, a sales call was featured that lasted 4 hours 20 minutes and a single bed was priced at an amazing £7499.00 before being suddenly discounted to £2850.00. There was even the case of an imaginary Scooter which was offered to customers but never in stock, simply so that the sales person could offer an apology and an upgrade as an alternative at a special price. The special price was still a lot higher than the customer would have paid through a showroom based business.
