Personal Health Budget

The new NHS Personal Health Budget Scheme will give more choice of where equipment can be bought as well as a detailed care plan catering for individual needs, ensuring a more joined-up approach, which is a key aim of NHS England’s Five Year Forward View. The Personal Health Budget will help NHS England collect meaningful data on provision that will further help improve services and address variations in provision across the country.

The NHS Personal Health Budget is an amount of money to support your health and wellbeing needs. This will be planned and agreed between you (or someone who represents you) and your local NHS team. The care plans will go beyond purchasing your equipment including maintenance, repair and replacement.
