Terms & Conditions

Capitol Mobility Limited can arrange delivery or installation countrywide (UK), It’s not always possible to say whether we will satisfy your order with a 'partner company' or which carrier if appropriate we will use for your order. If it's important to know then please email or telephone for this information. 

Delivery Charges
We currently offer free delivery within the Greater West Midlands (except for items under £150.00 or those shipped by a manufacturer). The product will indicate shipping/delivery cost or "free delivery" at the shipping/delivery stage of purchase.

Delivery Times 
All orders for items we hold in stock or can obtain ex stock from the manufacturer (shown as "in stock") are normally shipped within 2 business days. Specialist types of Wheelchairs, Scooters, Rise/recline Armchairs, Stairlifts etc., or other orders that are not stock items (as above) we are pleased to advise a shipping/fitting date as soon as possible following receipt of order. Normally, most of these type of orders typically take 2 - 5 business days to reach the customer. 

Custom Electric Wheelchairs, 'Curved' Stairlifts, non-standard Rise/Recline Armchairs and any other custom, special, non-standard or made to order items (extra wide, special fabric etc.) can take typically around 16 days, but we will be pleased to give a delivery date as soon as we have a manufacture date. 

If you need your order satisfied in a shorter period of time please contact our customer services on 0121 275 3409 who will be pleased to help in any way. Extra charges may apply, but you will be advised accordingly. 

In the event that your order cannot go out in the above mentioned times. You will be contacted as soon as possible with the reason for the delay. You can either cancel the order or wait for shipment. In the event that we cannot reach you to make a delivery we will re-attempt to deliver for up to 1 week at which time we will return the order and charge you a minimum 15% fee plus any carriage charges incurred. 

VAT Exemption
Most of our products are VAT exempt for the personal use of infirm and long term chronically sick and disabled persons and as such we do not include VAT in our quoted prices. As a recognised supplier we are able to supply a simple online form qualification. No doctors' letters or other such documentation is necessary. To claim VAT exemption on a purchase simply check the VAT exemption box in the payment detail screen and fill in the form. You may purchase on behalf of another person (Mother, Father, friend etc.,) but this must be stated, i.e. purchased on behalf of............who is suffering from......etc.

Goods must be paid in full prior to dispatch. Alternatively you can ring one of our customer service advisors on 0121 275 3409 and arrange to pay in the same way over the phone or by cheque (which must be cleared before goods are dispatched), whichever suits you best.

7 Day Return or Exchange Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchases and in accordance with the distance selling regulations offer a 7 day customer satisfaction guarantee. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the product you have purchased, we accept returns or exchanges under the following circumstances: -

The product must be unused, clean and not damaged (unless damaged during delivery which must be noted/recorded on the delivery note that you must also sign). 

The product must have the original packaging and materials, i.e. be fit for resale. Unless the product shipped was different then the one ordered, or you received a damaged order (see above). You will be responsible for paying any return shipping costs. There are no restocking fees.

'Non Returnable'
In accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations we do not accept the return of any products made to the customer's specification such as Stairlifts or other 'personalised' type products such as Electric Wheelchairs. Also, unless they are unused and not unpacked all bathing, hygiene and safety type products, toilet seats and such like etc. are non-returnable.

If you decide that you would like to return or exchange a product you will need to obtain a 'RA' Number (Returns Authorisation Number). The customer is responsible for the return shipment unless the product was damaged in delivery. Please call our customer services on 0121 275 3409 who will be pleased to help.

Returns refunds are normally credited to the card used for purchase or a cheque is returned after receipt and inspection of the product.

In accordance with the Distance Selling Regulations we are pleased to offer a return or cancellation within 14 days. However we do not accept the return or cancellation of any round the corner Stairlift tracks which have been individually made for the customer's Stairlift specification. There is no charge for the removal.

We work hard to see that our products are shipped as quickly as possible.  If you cancel your order after it has already shipped we consider it a 'return' or 'non-returnable' and the above policies and charges apply.

Returns refunds are normally credited to the card used for purchase or a cheque returned after receipt and inspection of the product.

All new products are offered with at least a 12 months parts and labour guarantee. Some products are offered with a 2 years or more parts only warranty, but may be subject to service/maintenance having taken place. Pre-owned and 2nd user products have 12 months or less, please check with the individual product.

Products or Items installed and/or delivered by Capitol Mobility's staff and vehicles are covered by an 'on site' guarantee which means we or our appointed agent will go to where the item was delivered or installed to carry out guarantee works and/or bring the product back to workshops for repair and return without charge. For any other item or product the customer is responsible for the return and/or pick-up of it (including any costs involved) to and from workshops where guarantee works will be effected without charge. Please see terms and conditions of sale printed on the reverse of our headed paper for any other particulars.

Items of a consumable nature will not normally be covered during the guarantee period unless such items have suffered undue wear as a result of an original manufacturing defect. Such items include:- upholstery - seat belts - batteries - footplate and footwell coverings, this list is not exhaustive. Also punctures and accident damage howsoever caused are not covered by a guarantee. Fair wear and tear applies to all guarantees offered.

A guarantee is offered subject to:-

1. Full payment having been made under the terms of contract.

2. The goods or part having been properly kept, maintained and not being obsolete.

3. The goods or part not having been damaged by neglect, accident or improper use and/or not having been altered or repairs attempted by any other person or agency.

Please note 2nd user parts may be used in guarantee repairs or replacements to pre-owned or second hand products.

Batteries are only guaranteed for cell failure, not wear and tear or faults caused by faulty chargers or mis-use/mis-handling by customers or others.
